ROLLING MACHINE, WORM MANUFACTURING METHOD USING THE SAME, AND WORM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling machine capable of suppressing the occurrence of a random walk phenomenon (back-and-forth movement in axial direction) of a shaft-shaped raw material during rolling machining of a spiral tooth part of a worm. SOLUTION: The rolling machine has a pair of first and second rolling dies 4 and 4 for pressing machining teeth 4a and 4a to an outer peripheral surface of a shaft-shaped raw material 11 having first and second tapered surfaces 13 and 14 at both ends of a shaft body 12 to plastically deform an outer peripheral surface of the shaft body and the first and second tapered surface, thereby forming spiral teeth 17. During rolling machining of the outer peripheral surface of the shaft-shaped raw material by the first and second rolling dies, a timing when machining teeth of one end in each axial direction of both the rolling dies abut against the first tapered surface to start machining and a timing when machining teeth of the other end in the axial direction of both the rolling dies abut against the second tapered surface to start machining are set substantially similar.
