PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell that simply suppresses drying of a membrane electrode. SOLUTION: A fuel cell 5 comprises a plurality of laminated cells 30, a filter 65 through which oxidant gas flowing due to rotations of a fan 4 passes, and a moisture absorption member 70 disposed on the filter 65. The moisture absorption member 70 absorbs water included in the oxidant gas while the fan 4 stops, and discharges the absorbed water to the oxidant gas passing through the filter 65 while the fan 4 rotates. Along with the water discharged by the moisture absorption member 70, the oxidant gas flows in a cathode side diffusion layer 452 through an oxidant channel 551 of a cell 30, thereby making the water discharged by the moisture absorption member 70 contact with a membrane electrode 450.
